opinions - not offense
And the first one here isn't something I wrote,
but oh!
how it speaks for me!
And it needs to be said somewhere, so I am sharing it.
Actually, it is tempered and tame compared to my feelings
on this subject, but we will get to that later.

And we will get to your opinions too.
Just click the appropriate link below to send me your thoughts -
nice clean, clear, sharp prose
(or poetry if you vent your spleen or speak your mind in rhyme)
and I will add it to this site.
Broken Arrow, Oklahoma School Officials removed "God Bless America" signs from schools in fear that someone might be offended.

Channel 12 News in Long Island, New York, ordered flags removed from the newsroom and red, white, and blue ribbons removed from the lapels of reporters.  Why?  Management did not want to appear that "they lean one way or another."

Berkeley, California bans U. S. flags from being displayed on city fire trucks because they didn't want to offend anyone in the community.

In an "act of tolerance" the head of the public library at Florida Gulf Coast University ordered all "Proud to be an American " signs removed so as to not offend international students.

I, for one, am quite disturbed by these actions of so-called American citizens; and I am tired of this nation worrying about whether or not we are offending some individual or their culture!

Since the terrorist attacks on September 11, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americans.  However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled in New York and Washington D.C. when the "politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that out patriotism was offending others.

I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone who is seeking a better life by coming to America.  In fact, our country's population is almost entirely comprised of descendants of immigrants; however, there are a few things that those who have recently come to our country, and apparently some native Americans, need to understand.

First of all, it is not our responsibility to continunually try not to offend you in any way.  This idea of America being a multi-cultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity.  As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own language, and our own lifestyle.  This culture, called the "American Way" has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials, and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.

Our forefathers fought, bled, and died at places such as Bunker Hill, Antietam, San Juan, Iwo Jima, Normandy, Korea, and Vietnam to preserve the "American Way" of life and everything it stands for.

We speak English, NOT Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Laotian, Vietnamese, or any other language!  Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn our language!

"In God We Trust" is our national motto.  This is not some off-the-wall, Christian, Right Wing, political slogan!  It is our national motto.  It is engraved in stone in the House of Representatives in our Capitol, and it is printed on our currency.  We adopted this motto because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation; and this is clearly documented throughout our history.

If it is appropriate for our motto to be inscribed in the halls of our highest level of government, then it is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. God is in our pledge, our National Anthem, nearly every patriotic song, and in our founding documents.  We honor His birth, death, and resurrection as holidays, and we turn to Him in prayer in times of crisis.  If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture, and we are proud to have Him.  We are proud of our heritage and those who have so honorably defended our freedoms.

We celebrate Independence Day, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Flag Day.  We have parades, picnics, and barbecues where we proudly wave our flag.  As an American, I have the right to wave my flag, sing my national anthem, quote my national motto, and cite my pledge whenever and wherever I choose.  If the Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet.

The American culture is our way of life, our heritage, and we are proud of it.  We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from!

We are Americans, like it or not, this is our country, our land, and our lifestyle.  Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion about our government, culture, or society, and we will allow you every opportunity to do so.  But, once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, and our way of life, I highly encourage you to take advantage of one other great American freedom, the right to leave.

Thank you Barry for saying what millions of Americans are thinking, and thank you for allowing me to share this here.
It is an honor for me to lead off the main page with it.

"Our laws and institutions must necessarily be based upon and embody the teaching of the Redeemer of mankind.
It is impossible that it should be otherwise;
and in this sense and to this extent
our civilization and our institutions
are emphatically Christian . . . .
this is a Christian nation."

US Supreme Court, 1892

One Nation Under God
In God We Trust
Let's cut to the heart of the matter
the heart of the problem
let those who want to take offense at this do so right up front:

America's God is only One Person.
America's God is Jesus Christ
the one and only God of the Christian religion

As an individual you are free to choose to believe in Him or not
but what you believe does not alter one iota the fact that

America is a Christian nation

founded on Christian principles

and it is only by the grace of America's God
that America is the great land of plenty and prosperity that she is,
that she has justice and freedom unequaled in the history of man.

For all the skeptics, all the scoffers, all the liberals
all those who fear offending anyone
who does not accept and believe this,
who want to legislate false gods, dead gods,
nongods, no gods as substitutes for America's God,

here it is in black and white
written in plain English!

No, they probably didn't have this in your history book
if you were in school in the last 40 years.
As far as I know,
We The People
never voted to amend or reword this,
We The People
never changed this principle
never allowed evil men to change it.

Here it is:

Barry hit the nail on the head:  "This idea of America being a multi-cultural community has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity."

The new buzz word, the lie of the enemy, designed to destroy oneness and unity, not create it is "celebrate diversity."

When we celebrate our differences, focus on our separateness, demand rights for our hypenated-ness which itself is a slap in the face of America every single time it is used, we are driving the wedges that separate us deeper, building the walls between us higher.

We are much more alike than different and diverse.  We all have hearts and minds and souls, and more or less, the same body parts and pieces.

We all have hopes and dreams we want to fullfil for ourselves, for each other, and for children through countless generations.

That's what we need to focus on strengthening, that is where we need to put our energies, not on diversity, but on granting each other the right to live the American Dream, accepting our differences with grace and love as best we can, or at least tolerating them in each other, and getting beyond them.

And we can start with every person in America with a self-proclaimed hyphenated handle for a label to begin now to call themselves AMERICANS!
The United States Supreme Court said that just 110 years ago.  Imagine that, pretty clear too.  In fact, it is very clear!

Unfortunately, a lot of recent immigrants from non-Christian nations never gave that a thought before coming here.  They should have!!!

We aren't going to change America for them, nor will we allow them to dilute or pollute the Christian principles on which America was founded.

We are One nation under One God.

This is God's country, God's nation, and He will protect it fiercely as He has from the beginning.  You see, God took our founding fathers seriously when they asked Him to be the Eternal God, the Everlasting Light of America, when they prayed for His wisdom in creating America as a land of liberty, freedom and justice, when they dedicated this nation to Him.

And thank God we have a man of God in the White House again who was not worried about offending anybody when he proclaimed Jesus Christ as his God, his strength, the source of His leadership, and his source of wisdom.  How beautiful to see a man of principle and conviction again in American government, instead of the flip, "God Bless America-type" we have had for so many years, who did not even know God.

And one final note on "offending people, for all those people who are worried about offending somebody, they had better wake up and realize that they daily offend America's God most of all, and He is the only one they should be concerned about offending!  As Thomas Jefferson said, God will not restrain His judgment of America forever.

Here are more profound words, God's own.  These, I was told recently, are the most offensive words in the Bible right now.  How heartless to suggest to Americans at a time like this that they may need to repent of a great many things which offend our Holy God.  Things like trying to throw God out of the schools and clear out of the country for the past 40 years!  Very presumptuous to ask for His blessing before we have begged for His mercy, wouldn't you say?  If you were God, would you be offended by a lot of things in America today?  Are you???

"If my people, who are called by My Name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Think about it, pray about it:

I know you will never believe they said these things unless you read this!  The liberals don't want you or your children to know.

This is a must if you have kids!!!
Wonderful history lesson!!!
"Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath?

I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever."
President Thomas Jefferson

"The reason that Christianity is the best friend of Government is because Christianity is the only religion that changes the heart."
President Thomas Jefferson
"I hold the precepts of Jesus as delivered by Himself, to be the most pure, benevolent and sublime which have ever been preached to man..."

President Thomas Jefferson

"We have no government armed in power
capable of contending in human passions ubridled by morality and religion.
Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.
It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other."

John Adams, address to the militia of Massachusetts, 1798.

"Of all systems of morality, ancient or modern,
which have come under my observation,
none appear to be so pure as that of Jesus."

Thomas Jefferson, To William Canby, 1813
